I am guilty of doing some laughable body work over the years.

Everywhere from using latex house paint to paint rocker panels, to filling a 6 inch wide dent entirely with bondo, but I have since matured and moved on to being able to do somewhat passable work.

What I was wondering is what is the worst attempt at rust/dent repair you have seen?

I am yet to see someone use drywall filler on rocker panels, but I've seen plenty of expand-a-foam and duct tape.

My thing is rivets and galvanized sheet metal, though I do weld some patches in.

(I used Rivets, duct sheet metal, and furnace tape to fix the smashed bumper on my moms '07 suburban)
What is the worst you've seen/done?

That yellow truck isn't bad at all, compared to chicken wire-reinforced cardboard covered with bondo! Wish I could find that photo.

The whole bottoms of both original fenders were actually made from chicken wire reinforced bondo!

I found out when I pulled them both off to install the new ones.

You can start to see a theme here, rivets and sheet metal (License plates/road signs).

Is that fiberglass, or just bondo? (second picture)

Right off the top of my head I’d say your stuff is the worst I’ve seen. Kudos for not letting that get you down though.

blob of bondo. That was their repair method for fiberglass. Was one of the main reason for me to start parting it out.
