Ahhhh, OK Cool. I just didn't want to see a workable shortbed go to Chevy Heaven just cuz it lost its legs and feet to a donation. Putting it all to use is all good. I'll add too, don't cut that frame. There are many out there trying to cut long bed frames. In fact one of our members did that and is now transfering it all to a short bed frame. He is Flamingo. You can always find a buyer for a good shortbed frame only. There should be no reason why any part of that truck you have there goes to the scrap yard what you don't use, the rest can be sold for your money back and part it out 100%.

i don't plan on any of it going to wase. i will hopefully use the short bed to do c20 swb, using the 1/2 ton 5 lug. what doesn't get used, is more than open to those in need. my master goal is to go 5-lug all around on air, and making the lwb into swb. so evemtiaually i planning on a swb crew cab on air ride.

If all you're using is the bed and the axles, get with Retro. He wants a SWB truck. He'd have to find axles and a bed, but otherwise it would be complete truck huh?

i've been checking out centerlines myself.

Watch craigslist like a hawk! I scored this set for 100 bucks a while ago.

I watch Craigslist for about 6 months and saw a couple other styles of the classic 15 inch wheels but did not have the cash at the moment. As soon as I saw these ones I HAD TO HAVE THEM.

I know exactly where you're coming from, new style wheels on these trucks dont do it for me. I am stuck on 90's style wheels.

Axles and a bed are cheap and easy enough to come by. How is the rest of the body? Engine? Trans?

has usual cab corner issues. other than that body is fairly good. no engine, trans. seat is all cut up, headliner is ripped. what is this i hear about using the short frame to put the crew cab on, instead of cutting the frame?

you can't use the shortbed frame to put the crewcab on. you move the hangers forward on the crewcab frame, and cut off the overhang, eliminating the splice in the middle.

No, for a crew cab, you'll have to cut a frame. I was reffering to people making a SWB out of a LWB and cutting the frame. You leftovers would be a good candidate for someone who wanted to convert to a SWB or Stepside. No reason for you to cut up or scrap what you don't use. Just sell it without axles or a bed.

gotcha. i planned on keeping the frame in case i ever decide to do a swb, i can start with a full frame off restore. the cab i'll more than likely just give away, minus the doors probly.

after getting all the crap that was loading in the bed out, it looks like the floor will need to be replaced. so, the bed and the cab, are gonna end up be for grabs for anyone needing something off them for patch spots, or scrap metal, or whatever. i'm gonna keep the frame for possible later use.

If that cab is any good at all, you can easitly get $100 for it.
