My Dad's Nova that he's been working on for about a year and a half now. He had a '78 Camaro that he'd tricked out and took to Pinks Allout in Dallas last year, which was a blast btw, but he wanted a street legal "race-car". And now he has one.....

Pics of the Camaro and some vids from PINKS and his buddies cars as well, three of which have been in Popular Hot Rodding, two made the cover...the third should have but they did a Camaro cover the issue before and didn't want another. I was also at the photoshoot forthe charcoal Camaro, which was cool as hell.

first two are trailer queens.....full on race cars. Both run 406 smallblocks but the second is Alchohol.

Frankie's Chevelle was on the cover of Popular Hot Rodding 3 years ago. Engine is a 496

Jerry Balko's Camaro, was in Popular Hot Rodding 2 years ago but is the one that missed being on the cover. Engine is a 502. I'd also like to note that this car has competed in several road races and recorded a top speed of around 180 at the Standing Mile event in Texas.

Gary's Dart, this is currently the only pic I have of it. He did not participate at PINKS because he flipped it. However it is back up and now built mostly of fiberglass. It has a fully built 468 Hemi with a Linco 4spd. It was in Popular Hot Rodding back a few years ago as well

I used to have a '70 Nova and loved that car, it was my first "hotrod". Does he ever have any trouble with it not hooking up well or excessive body torque? I've heard the underbody is made different from other cars around the same period and torques up alot more than the others and has to have more built into it to prevent that (which of course hurts the weight).

Don't know yet, engines first start up is tonight.

Part of me cries inside whenever I see a Nova turned into a drag car. Why couldn't they hack up Vegas instead?

I have a '71 Nova in my garage. All original. Straight 6, Powerglide, bench seats, etc.

Fired it up, not much, but that's cuz it was taken from my dad's iphone. Jerry Balko (owner of the charcoal camaro)is the guy pulling the throttle.
