Alright, I have 5 77-85 chevys. Im currently converting the older ones to intermittent wipers. Went to the junkyard and pulled 4 switches and modules. in my 80, swapped it in and it works great (as great as 80s intermittent wipers will work anyways).

now, in the 77, i tried all 4 setups and nothing works. just high speed and off.

I searched all the google threads, and between all the guessing and obvious wrong info I am not 100% sure on what needs done. I have come to the conclusion that i need an early 80's wiper motor for this to work?

the intermittent switch plugged right in. but the intermittent function does not work.

here. for future searchers.power wire goes to left plug on motor. then high/low speed grounding wires to the other two. you also need to run a wire from the bottom plug of the 2 wire plug on the motor to the middle wire of the 3 wire plug.

ok, still not working on delay. i have 4 switches/modules to try. brand new motor.

i need the wiring diagram for this setup with wire colors. the chiltons/haynes books only show 5 wires when there are six. im about to give up. anyone with good knowledge seems to not be around anymore or they didnt post up any info, just that they figured it out.

bueller?

Actually, I only see 4 wires to the motor/parking switch assembly (if you count the piggybacked black wires as a single).

Thats how i had it wired and still nothing!!!!

I CAN PLUG THIS INTO ANOTHER TRUCK AND IT WORKS ON HIGH, LOW, AND DELAY.
ON THIS TRUCK IT WORKS ON HIGH, IT WORKS ON LOW. IT JUST DOESNT DELAY IN THIS TRUCK

16 goes to batt+
(WHITE WIRE ON 82 HARNESS FAR LEFT PIN)

6 goes to 8 and to low spd on switch
(GRAY WIRES ON 82 HARNESS CENTER PIN)

5 goes to switch blck/ltblu wire
(DIRECT FROM PARK SWITCH TO WIPER SWITCH)

7 goes to switch high spd
(PURPLE FAR RIGHT PIN DIRECT TO PURPLE ON SWITCH)

PINK WIRE ON SWITCH IS SQUIRTER, BLACK WIRE ON SWITCH GOES TO GROUND, OTHER GRAY WIRE IS THE LIGHT BULB.

still nothing as far as delay. Switch and module are good they work in another truck.

AM I MISSING SOMETHING??????

I don't know where I got this dwg - or if it's even the correct application:

Here is a dwg I marked up. It shows the function and color of each wire:

Sorry, I'm 500 miles roughly from my truck, so I can't say exactly what I did. But this question comes up quite often and it seems I may be the only person that has actually done it.

When I do finally get home, I will be making a detailed thread showing how to do the swap though.

It's hard to follow the wires as shown - but anyway;

Try running a jumper from the steel wiper motor casing to the negative on your battery.

Also, and I really have no idea on this, does that motor/module/switch (switch is just not shown I guess) does that group all belong together? I mean are they all from the same year? If so what year?

And last but not least - I am so red/green color deficient that the color of those wires ... well I can't be sure of any of them, other than the blue and black.

But bottom line - you can take those exact components to a 1980 truck and the system pulses it's ass off - right?

BTW how many wires feed into the module on the side we can't see?
