True paint code look!

Does anyone own or have a picture of what my new truck(new to me) is supposed to look like? I can tell it had a very poor respray. But according to the engine bay sticker white would be primary, midnight blue would be secondary correct? I can only find pictures of the opposite, or with white in the center. Sticker also shows “special two tone” so whole truck one color, lower 1/3 another! 1984 c10!

what color is up under the dash? what color is the front bottom of the dash?, inside the doors? what color was the inside of the hood? is there anyplace you could scrape and re-coat?

the ZY3 code may show the 3 part scheme vs. the 2 part paint scheme.

if it was top down: white/blue/white,


or white/blue (with a whole white top and sides with blue on just the lower body)

Yeah your truck would've been white and the dark metallic blue that's in the middle of my truck. My truck is a ZY5 paint code, so yours wasn't this 2-tone

Working on it...would likely also need the chrome molding added back to the upper part of the blue side panel but then again maybe not.

Since it's ZY3 and not ZY5, wouldn't the blue be on the bottom and/or on the roof instead of a stripe down the side?

Yes, CoPilot. I like using it, but it has issues at times like new iterations having changed features you didn’t ask for but all in all not bad.

Thanks everyone! I believe from my late night rabbit hole digging of trying to figure this out, correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems the whole upper 2/3 of the truck would be white, then molding trim, then the midnight blue on the bottom? I don’t believe the roof was midnight blue as that was possibly another option?

My RPO is listed as a ZY3 and was 2-toned at the bottom.

I believe they have some exceptions when in combination with other options which muddies up the whole deal. It's one thing on its own but a trim option or a wheel option or Scottsdale vs Silverado changes things from what I've found.

I'm redoing my RPO to show the new paint codes and trimmings. Confuse future owners with how a 2018 color was used on a 1985 truck from what looks like the factory.
