Just to update the thread. I know I said I was happy with the dewalt, but that is now no longer the case. Not sure if it’s a battery issue or a tool issue, but the 2 aH batteries overheat very quickly. I think I will be getting rid of it and going with another brand, either kobalt or Metabo as I now have both of those tool lines in my house. I will say that the 24v kobalt impact I mentioned earlier in the thread is still rocking along, other than the original battery crapped out. But the new battery still was much cheaper than a comparable dewalt. Now, I should state that the dewalt model I ended up with was the basic brushed 20v. I did not get the brushless XR that was recommended, and maybe that’s where I went wrong. But the Metabo and kobalt lines are both brushless, and about $130. The dewalt brushless models are $200+. Just thought I’d put that disclaimer here.
I also finally bought a 40v chainsaw from kobalt. Only had it a couple days but I’ve already broken it in and it’s done way more than it should have been able to, given its size. I doubted kobalt before, but so far I’ve been nothing but satisfied with it.
