Need a Non-AC Heater Box

Novice here. The heater core in my 78 Chevy K10 started leaking. I purchased a new core and began uninstalling the heater box under the dash to replace it. In the process of taking out the box, I snapped off the last two remaining studs. They basically just crumbled in my hands. The one at the top was already broken off the box. I am discovering that these boxes are unobtanium. I can't find an OER for that box literally anywhere. I was hoping someone on here would have wanted to replace that box and perhaps could provide me with a resource. Or, is this something you have to get from a junkyard?

Yep have to find a parts truck or eBay. Someone here may have one, but shipping would probably be at least $50.

Is yours all cable operated?

Why not just modify yours? Jb weld some bolts in?

Thanks for the information. I wound up finding the broken section of the box and used JB Weld to put it back on. I got back in the truck securely.

As long as you keep the box from rattling and keep it sealed, no need to worry about it! I did my heater core 10 years ago and it's still kickin with no issues.
