Howdy all,

I have around 1500 miles on this 489 build and it appears the dad gum passenger side front intake seal is starting to seep coolant .

How worried should I be about this seepage?

Have you tried snugging up the intake bolts?. If it's not a big leak, not big enough to bother you then NBD,but here is the double edge sword part of that statement, keep careful careful check on your level. Because if lt is leaking external,it can also be leaking internally, oil and antifreeze are not a good combination. You spent a chunk of change on this deal already,I think I'd change the intake gaskets, but at the least keep checking the oil. If the level starts going up or you get milkshake looking oil,you need to change it immediately. Looks like the guy I sent you bought your radio. I hit another guy up about your brackets yesterday too. So. Good luck.

Thanks for the send! I actually sold the radio on eBay a few weeks back. I appreciate it though!

Not sure about a BBC, but on an SBC those on the end are blind holes, so it is possible to have the bolt bottom out before it’s snugged the intake down fully. I had to swap in 1/4” shorter bolts when I went from the SBC stock cast iron intake to an aluminum intake because the flange was thinner. You could try using a couple more washers under the bolt head.
