New Guy (kinda) from South Dakota

Good morning

My name is Dale and I live in western South Dakota. After seeing some posts on new threads from Ricko1966 I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself. I have been lurking for about a year and joined last September. I am afraid I am guilty of "WTF Man is this national join a forumn don't bother saying hi I'm so and so just bought a xxxty having a little problem hoping you guys could help day ?" My apologies.

I bought an 84 longbox a little over a year ago and have been working to restore it since then. It was mostly rust with the shape of a squarebody so it has been a long process but i feel like I am making progress. I spend a fair amount of time on the forum looking for advice and you all have been helpful even if the advice and info was from 10 years ago.

Here are a few pictures. i didn't take many early on but here is where I started and where I am now.

Anyway, sorry for the breach of etiquette.

Welcome sir,great introduction,even included pics. Yep, the quote up there. I wrote it,a little lack of sleep and 37 new guys on that day,all with I just got an xyz and it's doing abc,what's wrong. No hi I'm Bob this is my first project,no nothing not even a hi. So number 38 I wrote that. In his defense,he had introduced himself,before he had even bought the truck,it just didn't register. So my bad. I'm glad it prompted you to introduce your self though. Cool project,best of luck. ( I've even suggested the first x number of posts can't be, I have an X doing Y how do I fix it? Introduction,followed by a little pursuing,a little participation,so this forum isn't just a 411 number for 1 time posters too lazy to do any of their own research. Like even using our search bar) like 1st posts of What is plug gap for a 350?

Never have done an introduction, but I joined BEFORE @Ricko1966 so he hasn't gotten his panties in a *** over me and it didn't seem to be a big deal back then........Didn't know that didja Rick???...lol

I just think it's rude to ask for help without even saying hi first. Especially when it's obvious you didn't need help you're just being lazy.

My intro was kind of lame, I just said "Hi", wasn't looking for help then, just getting the hang of this forum stuff and sharing pics, thoughts and ideas sounded like fun. I'm sure someday I will post an "I am in need of help" thread. Plus I don't want to upset @Ricko1966 so thought I add this comment.

Welcome! Nice truck and looks like some good progress there! Tons of info here, and yes I did the same for a few. Lurked around before joining and thought that I could at least add some more knowledge. Not always knowledge pertaining to the current topic at hand, but hey knowing things is knowing things lol.
