Front right signal and marker not illuminated with headlights on

Both front right turn signal and front right side marker lights not illuminating with headlights on. However turn signal and hazard lights work.

I did a continuity test from what some call the "bulkhead" where the wires converge and plug into the firewall and both dark blue and brown wires ran out okay from bulkhead to spliced areas.

I am thinking something is open inside the cab. Not allowing current to flow to the right front with headlights on the dark blue circuit which is wire 15. Any ideas or common things that would cause the lights not turn on along with headlights? It's on a 80' Suburban.

This is puzzling and your post is confusing to me. Right front turn signal and marker not illuminating with the headlights on,but the turn signals and hazards work,do you mean all the other signals and hazards are working,just not right front? Headlight circuit is a separate circuit from turn signals,hazards and markers. They even have a separate power source,so this makes it even more confusing. Do you have incandescent bulbs in the front turn signal and marker,and are sure you have the correct bulbs. The front marker uses a strange power arrangement,sometimes the marker is the path to ground for the parking light,but not all the time. Now some LED replacements are bidirectional and some or not so they create issues.

I’m having the same issue here. When my key is on, ignition off, with the park light switch on, my front left hand parks are nice and bright, but I have no front right hand marker lights. When my key is off and the signal switch is activated for the right hand lights, my park lamps finally come on with the left side. My signals and hazards work “fine”, I may need a new flasher, as the right side is dimmer and slower, but I am curious if this is a signal/cam issue inside the column and/or a ground issue. Also to note, before this I had no right front signals. I sprayed and cleaned up the signal switch with contact cleaner and got them working, but no park lights as described above. I’m not running LEDs, either.

Edit: I have brand new bulbs in there, both tested great in either side.

When dealing with front turn signal / parking light issues --It is always a good idea to make sure you are using the correct bulb and they are good- front turn signal uses a double filament bulb. A wrong bulb or even a broken filament can cause all sort of strange behavior. i believe the bulb is a 2057 (or 1157)- should be the same as the brake lights.

My apologies, I did not receive your notifications to my post. I found my problem and my problem was I had a bad ground on the passenger side turn signal. To make it puzzling it was inside the connection was broken and found out when I pulled it out. I checked wiring and I had continuity but did not check the voltage, nor thinking the ground wire was not making full connection into the socket. I took a pic of my troubleshooting so you can see what I had to do to make the lights work. After I pulled my jumper wire and adjusted the remaining tab inside the turn signal socket I plugged her in and now they work. Repaired in place.

Yes, all the other lights were working except that spot. It took proper troubleshooting with voltage helped find the problem sooner.

You may have a ground problem like what I had. Check your ground (black wire) connection inside your right turn signal. It controls both turn signal and side marker illumination headlights on. If you have voltage there you know you got a bad ground.

Agree. I tried changing bulbs first and realized no way both bulbs could go at once but when both didn't work I knew I had a legitimate electrical issue.

You've brought up something here I've tried on other posts to make clear,but this is a great example. Get an old headlamp and make a test light out of it. Many times you will have a barely there ground or power, it's good enough to light an LED test light,it's good enough to work a meter,it's good enough to light a small incandescent,but not sufficient for the circuit it's in. If it won't light a headlight,it won't work many circuits. Volt drop testing would find this also.

I'm glad you found the problem- Here was my response in the other post.

1st check front right turn signal bulb making sure it is good and correct-
2nd check ground at that socket.
3rd could be bad socket.
