The time has come for some color! I had ordered a DIY roll-on bed liner for the interior from Monstaliner and got the bright orange tint called "Road Rash". I took a color sample to my guys at FinishMasters in Stafford (Thanks Mark and John!) and they mixed me some custom PPG single stage urethane to match. And its BRIGHT! Took me forever to mask off the cage and the other areas I didnt want orange. But finally got some color on the body on Friday. I LOVE IT! it looks soo VIVID and wet! I did get a few runs in it (DOH!) but they'll sand out. Only 1 bug too!! Not bad for a home built paint booth.

Saturday I spent time rubbing out the paint and fixing some runs. I hope the skin on my fingers hold out a bit longer. Also block sanded the doors and re-primed them with help from my oldest boy. He also cleaned and painted the factory hitch with bed liner paint. Also got the rear folding seat back from my upholstery guy. He had a GREAT idea to replace the seat belts with orange webbing. Its on order!

Now I'm on a roll! Got the doors primed, blocked and hung up the other day. This morning I squirted on more orange. Started cleaning up and painting parts to get ready for re-installation.

I've always liked this idea since I seen the pics of this one.

HotRod, I also saw pics of that truck years ago. Its totally awesome. I love the size of the tubing for the cage. I cant imagine what kind of material he used. Wonder if its simple 3" exhaust pipe?!

Yesterday I started cleaning up parts, everything from grill items, strikers and seat belts. Then last evening my boy and a neighbor helped attach and line up the doors.

Worked on the Wagon all day yesterday getting it ready for a white side panel. Wet sanding this monster has my fingers smooth as silk. My son has been working on the dash pad, trying to fix it. We cut out all the cracks and filled those areas with spray foam insulation, cut it flush and sanded it. Looks pretty good so far. Going to use epoxy to fill in the foam holes. Still not sure if we'll paint it or recover with some new vinyl.

Drove her into the booth around 3pm and thought Id be able to shoot it before dark, but it took FOREVER to mask it off properly. So shes ready for some paint this morning.

Squirted on some Refrigerator White yesterday morning and it turned out great! No runs and it laid out flat. Let it sit during the hot day and removed all the masking last night. Time to buff out the orange and apply bed liner to interior of the truck.
