I got a question about the pitman arm in my truck. I have an 81 k10. I need to replace it and was wondering if the 2wheel drive and 4wheel drive pitman arms are the same or different? I was looking on rockauto and the descriptions of them say they are for 2wheel drive... Would this pitman arm work?

Apparently they are all the same. But I'm sure someone better educated than I can chime in here.

I was thinking they were all the same...but honestly i have no clue. Just looking at rockauto they list the same part number for both the c10 and k10

as long as its the same # for powersteering on both trucks then you should be good to go.

This is supposedly the setup on a K10 (It's been a LONG time since I've been under a K10).

They are not the same, they are keyed different. 4WD arm points left to right and 2WD points front to back. And I think the 2WD arm is a little shorter. People like to use the 2WD box for crossover steering mod because the arm points the right way to work the crossover drag link compared to the 4WD one.

That's a steering arm, on the axle, not the pitman arm, which is on the steering gear.

2wd and 4wd are not the same. The 4x4 ones are hard to find , you might have to go to a wrecking yard. I believe they are a wide year spead , (like 73 to 87) .Summit has a new one from skyjacker for a little over 100.00 , but it is for a lifted truck. The skyjacker ones are all over the place , but stock ones??????? Not the steering arm the pitman arm (goes on the steering box shaft) is what you need?

Yes that is the pitman arm and it looks like you have a small lift , if so the skyjacker one should work fine , and its brand new
