I've seen a few MSD ignition failures at the races, but I think I'm still gonna get an MSD ignition module with the built in rev limiter. Want to try to prevent floating a valve with the new motor. Cant comment on Mallory, have no experience with them.

I have used both and have had better performance from MSD. The Mallory units that I had have had an issue with consistency, they have not maintianed the performance from factory parts to replacement parts. I have had both fail and the MSD has always returned to the same performance level after repairs but the Mallory units have not always done the same.

I have not raced for a living in 20 years now but that was the deciding factor for ma when I did.

I always buy MSD stuff (cept there coils they suck) Dist, spark boxes and wires.
I have heard about other folks having problems with there spark boxes, but mine have always been good. 6AL
The last spark box I bought was a Summit brand (made by MSD) for my 92 454 truck.
Its been a good piece had it for two years. If it goes bad you can easy revert back to old and go down the road.

I modded your poll GOBR. Accel is another one that some really like. I've never tried MSD, but have had good luck with Mallory and Accel ignition components.

I've run MSD and Accel products and never had any complaints about any of it. Especially Accel, I've run their coils, wires, dizzys, plugs, injectors, etc. Only experience with Mallory is their coils, worked fine but you had to pull the coil cover to remove the wires.

Ive got a Accel coil in my S10 and its been in there for almost 9 years now. I akso have a MSD Streetfire ignition box with the built in rev limiter thats been in for almost 4 years and havient had any problems out of either. The MSD never misses a lick and the coil ive never had any problems out of.

does your rev limiter cut out one cylinder at a time or cut all 8 fast on and off style?

Not sure how its cuts them out but itll hold it either from 700 to way over what my lil 2.8 can handle i leave it set at 5500 and when im playing thats where i shift which is prolly why my 5 speed went KABOOM lol.

Ive never ran anything but MSD. I bought a Mustang that had Mallory components but it blew up shortly after I got it. Not sayin it was cause of the Mallory parts. It broke cause of my right foot. It was my first "fast" car.

I see that this is a question just like "Comp Cam, Crane, or Lunati" lol.
