well last week i sold my 37 tsl bogger and now got a brand new set of 39.5 tsl boggers.. now i am thinking i need more lift?

85 chevy k10 with 6 inch rough country lift... am i going to need more lift? i don't really do much rock stuff or anything just play around in the mud and hit the back roads for fun rides... anyone else have this set up or similar? info would be awesome so i can order a new lift before the tires get here

Without seeing them on the truck. I would think any flex would rest the body on the tires and tear them up. It will probly need come prety good surgery on the wheel wells to clear better.

A lot depends on the backspacing and width of the wheel. Trimming or more lift is probably needed.

That is my plan. 40" Maxxis on mine with a 6" lift. I will cut to fit and adjust the bump stops. I want a lower COG with decent sized meats. I would leave it if I were you but obviously I'm bias...

8" seems to open another can of worms...

You're trimming significantly or more lift and trimming less significantly. It doesn't take rocks to flex enough to tear up fenders and tires. My rig still rubs, (very, very slightly) as seen in the following pic, but I can still steer with my tire tucked all the way in with very minimal contact. Not nearly enough to cause any damage other than rubbing undercoating off the inner fender.

You have to decide which options are right for you. I'd consider massaging your fenders and maintaining the lower CG if I were in your shoes. Moving the front axle forward and trimming was my choice because I didn't want to cut into my cab and I'm moving it forward 1 or 2 inches more to eliminate what little friction that is there. Cutting isn't that big a deal if well thought out. I haven't had to trim my rears yet because the contact is very slight but I will be adjusting springs shortly and will be forced to.

I don't care for body lifts much, but maybe if you stayed at the conservative of 2 inch body lift, that might do the trick. If not then I'd get to a bit of trimming. Or do the trimming and if it's not enough, then add the 2in body lift.
If you increased tire size by 2.5 inches, then you're only 1.25 inch higher into the wheel wells, so a 2in body lift should give you even another .75 inch of space to play and flew over an above what you have before.
Then again, trimming may be he best option keeping a lower COG and trimming is usually just labor only expense other than grinding wheels and/or SawZall blades.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think those 39.5 Boggers are 18" wide. If so you will need at least 2" body lift to keep the tires from eating the top of the fenders/fender wells, you'll have to trim the fenders front & probably rear too, and you may have to reset your bump stops to limit up travel. Or you can go 10" lift and trim the fenders and deal with all the driveline headaches that will bring.

Buddy of mine had the 38.5 TSL that were 16 wide on nothing but a 3" body lift. He rubbed sometimes, but the tires bent the fenders where that happened, and it ended looking like he trimmed it. I think he also had removed the wheel wells inside the front, splashed mud all over the engine compartment, but otherwise worked fine. 39's are an inch taller, and what 2 inches wider? you have 3 more inches of height than my buddiy's truck. Just try them out, and see. Pulling the inner wheel well is pretty common around here since they rust all out anyhow from the road salt.

So your rims already have shallow back spacing (making them stick out) AND you intend to run 3" spacers?! This super wide track width will force you to either trim or go higher.

The rear axle has a narrower track width than the front from the factory to help with the turning radius.

well today one came .. spent all its time at the tire shop. took them all day to figure out how to mount it. they used a tiger torch to get the tire a little warm so it would spread out to the rim...

here are some pictures let me know what u think about it
