Dizzy not advancing maybe causing the weak take off? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes it will cause power issues.

I had my vacuum advance hooked up to the wrong port and the power curve was next to nothing. Advanced the timing to 12* and hooked up the VA to the port suggected by Cliff Ruggles and the engine runs way better and the power curve as way more broad than it was before. I turned the timing light dial to 34* and twisted the throttle lever on the carb and it was all in at an rpm I don't know, but can check later. I can easily rap up the engine now, whereas, before it would just peter out.

All in you want 36* around 2500-2800 RPM and total you want 42* with vac advanced hooked up.

I may need to go with a tad more advance. I don't know how many rpm's I was turning when I checked the all-in. I just saw it went back to 12* when I rapped up the engine with the timing light dial turned to 34*. I am going to be swapping in an HEI, so I will wait and do the fine tuning at that point.
