LOL same as d60's from what I've seen.

The AAM is same as D60? So what is AAM anyway? I know I've seen one in a pic and did look like a 14b SF. And Dana is very distinct.

OH OK, yeah. It's not much less at all. I was hoping I sneak in and cheap out and have the near strength of D60 Front, but NO. They are pricey. And most are DS drop which is good for you. If I was doing a DS drop, I'd be looking for a High Pinion Ford D60. This way your lift kit can be to the moon and no bad angle up front. The rear can always be indexed by clocking your perches to match the angle. and then you have no dshaft angle problems with a high lift.

American axle and manufacturing, took over the old gm axles plants when Gm got out of the axle business,Detroit forge and axle and the towaganda plant. that where they made the 14 bolt axles and other Gm corporate axles.the aam axles are under new Gm vehicles and Dodge vehicles.also make Volkswagen and Nissan drive trains components .

Yep.

The Dodge front axle is a little different than the GM 14SF, IIRC the ring gear is a little smaller among other things. Same basic design though.

I would say we could change this thread title to t-case and linkage or something along those lines lol or maybe start another. eh I'll wait lol.

if Andy gets a t-case later on I'll try and get it from him, if not then I think I may search hard for a ps drop np241 that already has vss.

only down side they aint cheap easy $100-250 or so, where as a 208 or something usually seems cheap or free.

I sold a PS Drop NP241C with VSS for $100 a few months ago. Now I wish I woulda took the guy up on his offer for me to buy it back for $75. He didn't know what a VSS and couldn't use it. He gets in touch a month later and wants a refund. I said NO of course. Told him to relist it for $150 that I had several people contact me after he bought it and wanted it bad. But he didn't want to dick with it and offered me to buy if back for $75 and sell it myself for $150. It almost made me think the guy might have been doing some switcheroo kinda BS so I said NOOOOOOOOOOOO again.

Have you decided if you're going DS or PS for sure yet??? I say stick with the big GM boys and go PS. If you go DS, then you gotta do the Ferd Lovers. Although, High Pinion D60 makes great sense.

d'oh I just got the ps drop axle from Andy lol so I'm definately going with a ps drop t-case. 10 bolt front is enough for me, it's mostly mall crawler.

I wrote stealth conversions or jagsthatrun, they have a vss thing that adapts from cable driven to vss and I asked if that'd work for what I want, use my stock gaguge and wiring crap ecm etc. to make it work with like a np208 case or whatever cable driven one I end up with.

If I end up with an extra t-case it will probably be the cable drive 208 from the Burb. Never know what I might come up with though.

Forgot all about the 10bolt from Andy.

Yeah, I'd say the NP241C from a 90 or 91 Burb or K5 is the way to go then. You might pay for it, but that converter to be able to use the NP208 probably isn't cheap either.

$75 bucks for the convertor.

not bad if I get a good deal on a 208.

Andy that'd be fine with me the old 208 . You get ready to get rid of it just let me know.

And if you found an NP241C with a VSS for $75-$100 that would be even better. Don't hold your breath, but it could happen.

I was looking at craigslist yesterday for a dirt cheap blazer project and saw one in Gallonopiss I think it was, had a 208 tcase, 6" lift, etc etc. If I come across one I settle on I'll sell you the tcase since I want to put all my stuff in it.
