If you are reffering to the bulb behind the dash cluster, It seems common to me its the Check Engine light bulb for the cluster on ESC (Electronic Spark Control) models, or C3 (Computer Command Control) models.

courtesy light for the footwell as already stated. The ashtray light you spoke of earlier is pretty neet it is actually fed from the cluster thru fiberoptics to the ashtray. oh and the SES light is mounted directly to the board not with a pig tail isnt it?

Not on my 84 C20 its not. Unless I traced it to the wrong place. And not come to think of it, NO it can't be. Cus you have the CE light in the center of the Speedo and Fuel Gage and its no bulb socket there, so when I found the hanging looked like a dash light, to the color of the wires and it said CE light, I pushed in there and it fit. As my memory serves anyway. That's been awhile now. And it was no big deal cuz the CE and ESC is all been bypassed and I figured that's why they took the CE light out of its socket.
