You have to drive the lugnut studs out of the hub to get the drums off. Once the drums are off you put the rotors on in place of the drums and drive them back in. You will want to leave the lugnuts on the studs so you don't beat the threads up when you start trying to remove them, and an air chisel with the hammerhead attachment works great for this but I just used a 2# hammer and a steel drift. Your lugnut studs will end up being about 1/4" shorter afterwards because of the difference in thickness of the drum flange and the rotor flange but my lugnuts went on just fine, open acorn style holding on steel wheels. If you have aluminum wheels that the lugnuts recess into you may want to go get 1/2" longer studs. It took me about 3 hours to do this.

Are you familiar with pulling the bearing hubs off of a front axle? It's the same type of set up.

So what do any of you intend to do for a parking brake or E brake?

Recently when using mine at the family cemetery, which has a VERY STEEP road going up, I just drove it into the ditch beside the road and let the hillside be the park brake. I know that isn't an option for some people and some situations, the ditch was pretty deep.

Hydro lock like on a wrecker. Step on the brake using a manual valve lock out the rear brakes like a line lock on a drag car.

That's what I figured I'd use. Mico makes a kit. We installed on one of our tow trucks cuz it had one of those driveshaft drum brakes and wasn't holding very well. Fuggin bossman cut a 2x4 and used that on the seat to the brake pedal. I woudln't drive the POS and I told him about the Mico and he got it. No more excuses I had to drive it then. Only a couple times though.
