Hello i have a 1985 gm 14 bolt.
I want to do a disc brake conversion for it.

If you have the right brackets can you use the disc roters and calipers.

I have the full set so that is what i wanted to do.

Thanks just wondering if anyone knows.

Cant use Dana 60 calipers & rotors, calipers are made way different. You'll need 3/4 ton truck front rotors and calipers. I guess it really depends on the brackets you use but all of em I've seen is for 3/4 ton front rotors/calipers. Got a link or pic of what brackets you're going with? I will probably be able to tell by looking at them.

You can do rear disc with d60 parts pretty easily, you just need to fab flanges to weld onto the axle housing that you can then bolt the d60 caliper brackets to.

For square bodies, ALL 3/4 tons were 8 lug however the rotors are different between 3/4 and 1 tons. GM 1 ton rotors are 13" in dia and 1.5" thick (new).

14 bolt brackets cheap i have these for my crew cab

http://diy4x.com/cart/index.php?route=product/product&path=37&product_id=35

disc brakes have 2 pounds residual pressure and drum brakes have 10 pounds so you will need a proportioning valve
i just bought one of these look more on ebay i found some cheaper

http://www.ebay.com/itm/gm-car-prop...Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a25213ee4&vxp=mtr

and i got these brake lines i am going to mount the tab to the spring perch and run hard lines from the tee to them

i have not found a good master cylinder for disc front/rear yet so i have no advice on that yet

but i can say those brackets from diy4x are awsome. i have used the first design they had (used spacers) and the design in that link it is built very well.
i have not installed it yet but i am about to as soon as my other parts show up.

I used a master cylinder from a 99 C3500 on my K5 and it works great. The 99 C3500 is a 4 wheel disc, vacuum booster applicaion.
