Just moved here from California. Looking to finally upgrade my truck. I have a V2500 with the 5.7. Any suggestions on some upgrades to get more power out of the engine while still keeping her my daily driver. Thanks for the help..

Also any free trails I can take my truck around the Pensacola area?

Some gears if it has 3.73, and advance the timing a bit. Maybe exhaust and free tbi mods. From there would either need to change from tbi or tune.

Not Military any more. But if you look at housing cost in the San Francisco bay area compared to here. Anyone would move.

Thanks Viktor for the link

Welcome aboard. Definitely read over that link. Lots of good info on the tbichips site and Brian is helpful if you need to contact him directly about of of his chips.

A full tune up will help also if you havent done so or dont know the history of the maintenance if you recently bought it. I imagine its in good running shape coming from Cali with their smog laws.

Headers would be a safe, effective liberation of some power. I would suggest keeping it mild with a cam and lifter swap, which my suggestion would be a Comp 12-304-4. I think the lifters are the 812-16. Comp’s website would tell you what goes with the cam all on one spec sheet, but the website seemed to be having gremlins when I tried to check just now. Even then, TBI heads are the worst, Jerry, the worst (had to invoke a little Seinfeld there, sorry). What I’m saying is I don’t know how much good a cam would do if the heads’ inhalation and exhalation are a problem to begin with.
