If you have the other parts (the clip and the indicator), I found that nylon fishing line works really well to replace the little cable. I've had nylon line installed for 10+ years and it works fine.

Rusty the GM part # is 25016378. Don't know if Chevrolet still stocks but that's the # on my spare.

No clue. Seems like though..4 speed vs. 3 speed? I think i'll really give a fishin strang a fair shot..that part # sells for THIRTY BUCKS!

When I was cleaning the garage today, I came across one of these little cables. Of the two strands, one is broke loose from the bracket tab thing. But the other is still holding and the loop is still together. Basically, it still works but it's 50% used up. If you want it I'll send it your way.

Sounds cool. Think i'll use it and try the "nylon string" theory , and make a new!
Pretty low on the list but we were waiting on the brake brackets..don't put yourself out none. ;)
