Found the answer in the 73 model instructions (maybe in the 81-87 as well and I missed it more than once).

YOU GLUE IT IN PLACE.

Installed these gauges a few years ago and lost the cover for the gear indicator. Digital Dakota sent me a new set but...how the heck do you attach the clear cover to the bezel?

I've been looking through instruction books and forums. Seems I'm the only one that doesn't know how to do this. :(

Wasn't super thrilled about that part. Kind of cheesy but oh well. My indicator is still broken like the rest of them lol
