Wiring in Tach

I have a 1981 C10 305
The truck is almost completely stock and I’m trying to put in a intellitronix electronic cluster. I have everything working except for the tach, how do I know where to tap in to get a tach reading.

On the HEI distributor, there is a terminal labeled "batt", where 12v power comes in. Right next to that is a terminal labeled "tach", that's where you get your tach signal.

i don't know what brand my distributor cap is, but it just has stock plugs, its not a modern upgraded cap.

Go look at your cap hard ,where the electrical connections are. Clean it,read it,send us a pic.

Shouldn't matter the brand, modern or 50 years old. All should show BATT and TACH
