So here's where I'm at using a multi meter MAF sensor, but why it coming out the rear shouldn't it be up in front of the engine. Did I do something wrong.

Is that an aftermarket harness or a modified stock harness? MAF and IAT are in between the throttle body and intake box on a factory LS. Depending on the year of the donor, it will have either separate 3 and 2 pin connectors or it will have a single 5 pin connector for a combined MAF/IAT sensor. If you don't want to adjust the values in the tune, you should use the factory sensors. The picture looks like that harness should be running across the front of the engine and then down the front of the passenger side valve cover before going across to the intake tube.

Modified stock that was butchered by the salvage yard. Single 5pin and it doesn't have a connector.
