Obviously the larger green wire goes to the compressor, but what's this one for? I'm trying to convert my temp gauge back to stock from one of those cheesy 3-gauge clusters that hang under the dash - eliminating the oil line (red). The other green wire (yellow) goes to a temp sensor in the side of the block. I believe there are actually TWO temp sensors? But the wire in question isn't long enough to reach the one on the top/front of the intake. 1979, if that matters. Help, please?

Sweet, so I can eliminate that one from the mystery; thank you!
But what else could I be missing for the gauge to be inoperable? I bought new gauges, so that ain't it. Do I only need the one temp sender? I'm wondering if that's faulty, but it was replaced not too long ago.

Mine only has 1 temp sensor, but, if you got new bad gauges ...

One other random thought - notice that ground wire in my loom running over to the thermostat ? I do not see that on yours.

Ooh, that may be it. I definitely do not have that ground wire hooked up to anything in that area; I'll look at that tonight. Thanks again Goldie!
