I do not envy you guys on the east side of the country.
My 1995 Suburban shows zero rust anywhere on it.
The chassis still has black paint on it when I rub the dirt off.
Here is a shot of the rear wheel well a few years ago when we redid the rear end.
I has just repainted the rear and springs for the reinstallation.

Trust me, we are absolutely envious of you all. It's terrible what the road salt and brine does to these things.

Had to warranty a brake caliper through Rock Auto on the caravan. Not too bad a process so far, just have to eat some shipping. A year to the day the piston to housing packing decided to check out, which I thought was weird. But it was no problem swapping out assemblies and Mrs Radiohead has her wheels again.

And three months later, the other side has done the same thing. Looks like the warranty is about to run out on that purchase and if these replacements continue the trend, I will be a little more than pissed about the quality of Raybestos remans. They used to be good, just like most all parts outfits until covid fornicated the pooch.

Just keep dumping fluid in until the warranty arrives, somewhere in the second week of January. $#!%@&<>☆

The Rangers turn signals stopped working Friday put a new flasher module in it (signals and 4 ways use one relay style unit 4 ways still worked) no dice. Have a multifunction switch (turn signal, 4way, wiper, washer and high/low beam in same unit everything but turn signals works) that should be here today hopefully that does the trick.

Ignore the dirty dusty mess it's just a beater with a heater.

Funny the procedure is to remove the radio surround the gage surround and lower dash panel and unplug about 10 electrical plugs in the process before taking the column cover off.

I pulled the 3 screws in the cover and pulled the lower cover with column tilted up then tilted it down and took the top half off and pulled the 2 screws for the multi-function switch and 2 plugs in less than 5 minutes. Now just waiting on the new one that should be here anytime now.

The stupid multi-function switch. What a brilliant idea.

Did another trans oil change on the Armada. Anti-Shudder additive is a must.
Checked my Son’s Chevy Trax coolant leak. Looks like the water pump. I think I may have a garage do it.

Changed the oil on Friday, noticed a hot oil smell over the weekend. No drips, filter body's not wet, drain plug only has a slight weep, nothing on the y-pipe but it's a pretty intense smell. Was too busy to put much time into it this weekend and since it wasn't dripping on the ground, I wasn't worried about it.

Checked the catch can today, that wasn't it. Grabbed the creeper and started looking around, only thing I found was this residue around the oil cooler block off plate/top of the oil filter like one of those two is misting. Guess I'll get that cleaned off, drive it home and re-check tonight

Got phase two of exterior Feynlab® Self Heal Plus Paint Protection ceramic coating done and phase three of interior ceramic coating done. Pics later after I pick it up tonight.

Update:
Yes it was very expensive and worth it. My plan is this will be the last new car I buy so it needs to last. New vehicles, their prices, sales tax (7.5%) and licensing costs are ridiculous now. Car is stunning, undercarriage s beautiful and the car looks better than it did when I bought it new. Late with pics but pics don't really show the quality of work done. Even the wheels and glass got treated. Highly recommend doing this to prolong the life of your vehicle.

I'm working slowly through timing belt (and related) IAC rebuild (good clean and gaskets), new front speakers, car seat top anchor on my 2000 4runner. About 70% done with the timing job.

God damn if some of those bolts aren't a pain in the ass. Mainly, the AC compressor and it's mount.

I just replaced the headlight plug and pigtail on a Civic. It was for the girl that works for us. The dealer wanted $300 to fix her wiring harness. Amazon and a few bucks , it’s fixed.
It’s mind boggling at the cost of repair nowadays ☹️

Added a hitch and basket tray. 2021 Sorento. free car can’t complain! I will b!tch about how I had to drop the exhaust to get to the factory mounting points for the hitch. And once I did..only managed to get 5 out of the 6 bolts in lol I ain’t towing with it so I’m not worried

C10 watches from the background that something else was getting attention lol
