AND something AMAZING happened this morning ridin on the Interstate.
I started racing around with a BONNEVILLE.
*gulp*

See I drove a Bonneville around for a bit and thought it was FAST. 3.08s? It was!
U and i both know them 3800 series 2 engines dont play.
Anyways I was excited to get in the first race. Bought it in October.
It was achieving only 10MPG.

Picked it up for a song and now i'm dancin a jig. Got to work a lil changing fluids and filters.Cleaned the puke out of the carpet.
Changed the oem pcv valve at 275k.
275k is correct.

She liked it a lot and we kinda started making out a lil..:33:

Getting along great. :)
Now it'z got a k&n in the stock filter box, i threw the muffler, resonator, and tip in the trash AND THEN installed a 2.5" Dynomax Super Turbo with a 3x12", double walled, chrome pencil tip.

It's pretty dope.

Walked past that Bonneville at 100mph. Wow! Bad mother -

Tops out @ 112 - speedo says 140
We didnt race that far , i found out later

Anyways i'm glad he didnt lift and now we know
Seems to need more advance. The timing curve pretty much sucks i've decided...it's all very low end. Idles at 17° and takes her. sweet. time. gettin into the goody. The midrange is pretty dead....So today I started looking for more. it made me think of u dudes....haha
...

CHAT estimates given the intake, exhaust, and slight timing or flow mods:

Horsepower: ~230–240 hp

Torque: ~235–245 lb-ft

I've got a new Lexus air inlet for a 460 with silencer deletes that needs installed tomorrow maybe. Toyota haz parts interchangability? We.shall.see!

I'm puttin in a LOT of work trying to figure out how to go from 17s back to 15 inch wheels. You aint never seen a lowered Highlander - yet. :headbang:

The interchangability has GOT to be there but has yet to be established. AND there simply arent any in the junk yard to play with...sounds stupid but it's true.

3.21 geared
Crystal White (074)
All wheel drive
5spd automatic
independent rear suspension
4whl discs
cold AC / rear heat
$2500 for this $32k 2007, 3.3L Highlander Sport
15/17mpg (*corrected tank capacity)
277k miles and every button works - I ain't goin back :Nonono:

Last year of 1st gen Highlander
Last year it was MADE IN JAPAN
(2008s were made in Tennessee -wildly different)
Last year for traditional interior (without a dash screen & with gauges)

(I sanded most of the chrome off the wheels with rubbing compound)

Nice ride! I wouldn't own one of these, but I rented a Rav4 a coupe of weeks ago. I wanted a midsize sedan like a Malibu, but they only had an intermediate SUV. I needed to leave town immediately, there was no time for negotiations, so I got what they brought out. At first I thought it sucked. The more I drove it the more I liked it, even though it's a newer model. Plenty of room, sport mode was my favorite. Braked well, power was lacking, or should I say lagging, there was a definite lag when the gas pedal was pushed down, but it revved high and ran as fast as I wanted to take it. I was impressed with it's agility for it being a boxy turd. Toyotas are good vehicles, nice score.

installed the wrong oil filter and blew it up.
Bought it in October already put a hot rod motor in it.

Since then I bought and had installed the motor from an 05 Lexus RX330 with exactly 60k fewer miles.
Replaced factory parts while it sat on the ground.

Yes the. Lexus engine has higher factory horsepower ratings BUT! it is my understanding the parts are identical and the difference lies in the TUNING.
Which naturally will be our next course of action - a full custom tune cometh. Got a great idea and a buddy.

We're at the end of this line already.Only small intake silencer deletes(x2) remain.

40 horse and 50 pounds is very effective - it weighs 4000 lbs!

+or- almost 20%?!
i'll take it!
Planning to (eat the core) ,FIX&MODIFY WHY IT BROKE, and keep the other one so I can build it to be way more gooder with Alternative Factory Parts -bore it out, put "better" pistons, lumpy cams, and rebuilt heads on it...some real headers...big fun!
I think there are advanced cam gears and stuff...pulleys and such... Info on other heads proves very elusive. (DOHC 24V)

Toyota engines have improved over the years.
My current DD is a Toyota RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV). It runs 47-49 miles on a full charge, which takes about 2 1/2 hours on 240 volt, and it costs me about $2.90 for that full charge. After running out of electric I would automatically switch to the gas engine, and get about 35-36 mpg at 75 mph.

However, here’s the good part - it has 302 HP, and the electric motor torque brings it all in immediately. There is absolutely no power lag. It’s like driving a 300 HP go cart through traffic, while running A/C, using ventilated seats to keep cool, and listening Sirius XM on the radio.

Yeah...i looked into a 3.5L swap (lol) and determined it to be too expensive.
Unfortunately I have EXCEEDED the vehicle's purchase price in that replacement by a couple hundo.
She's all tapped out ATM and I am simply not in a position to work on it myself- time no longer passes like it once did

here we wait

Thank you.

Been fantasy building the engine

2MZ-FE pistons will raise compression
1MZ-FE non-VVT-i cams (1994–1999). To delete VVT gotta run a 1MZ-FE ECU (early Avalon/Camry) and it'll LOPE. * on 91 octane

Compression: ~10.8:1

Power bump: +25–35 hp
Another +15%?!
This is very near the end of the road (If u wanna rebuild a Toyota v6... That's how id do it. Bout +35% over stock.
Meh.Seems kinda realistic but still wildly uninteresting recipe for a 300hp (299) Toyota 3.3L (lol)
100% completely possible! @75gmck25

Fvcker prolly still wouldnt peel out :baby:
The lope might be worth it though
Some of the BEST FUN i ever had in the Civic came from disabling the ABS. I wanna turn the ABS off.

ABS sux!

AND! there's an aluminum crank pulley im completely hot for <3

Update:
I bought 1x custom fit 15" chromed aluminum smoothie (with center cap) to test fit and verify it'll clear the big Sport calipers up front.
The steel 15" 2005 Camry wheel I have cleared the back okay but required a 10mm spacer or so up front lol.

Custom fit 15s get RWL 235/60s which turns the 3.48 final drive ratio (not 3:21) into a whopping 3.80:1 behind the heavy assed 225/65R17s keepin me down now.
I'm not looking to make any "new" horsepower mind you, but I can sure-as-heck make it go even. faster. :rocking:

I blew off the crank pulley.

Alas, it has been determined there simply is not a better place to spend the tax return...

Chat GPT generated image ^^ Can't render the wheels correctly but you aint never seen a SUV lookin like that!
Dude it sh*ts n gits.Fixin 2 get even better!

I'll prolly add the coilovers later - 1 pair at a time. If I chop it all up, $2000 won't seem so bad :rockit:

This is pretty much the only 15" wheel that will fit, especially at that price point. There are at least 2 different ones with deep enough barrels that might work but they run another +50% cost. Each.
+200% for a different style? Nahhhh :Nonono:
SMOOTHIES are COOL
