Question, I have removed my vent windows and one of the windows has a damaged piece that I was wondering if it can be removed and replaced? It is on the inside of the division bar, it has a stainless piece on it for the vent window catch. It is black metal and it was dented/damaged. Can this be removed or replaced? The window is in tact and usable just wondering if that "interior trim" piece is removable

sorry dont have a pic at the moment, on your post where the lmc logo is on part #1, where the latch rests. It is a thin metal strip with the stainless latch catch. that thin strip of metal is what I am inqiring about. I do not see it listed in the parts. maybe thats the answer to my question?

About a 2" long stainless piece? If so, those come off - I removed mine when I had the frame powder coated. Probably have to bag one used in a yard.

I am talking about the black strip that the stainless is on, is this a replaceable/purchasable part?

Hey, saw your post....kinda related, but not completely. They make a trim paint that you can pick up at automotive paint shops that comes in a rattle can that makes that black part look really good. Mine had a little surface rust on them when I took the doors apart to paint the truck. I lightly sand blasted those and hit them with that low gloss, almost matte trim paint and they look great. It's held up really well, also. Good luck on finding what you need.

thanks for the replies and answers......on to the net question. I have watched a video that says there is supposed to be a bolt in the door under the window. I would guess as a pinch point to pull the inside and outside of the door together under the vent window. My doors do not have that bolt. I have checked 4 doors that I have none have that bolt. these doors certainly arent original and unmolested. What's the rule of thumb on this bolt??

There should be a round rod bent so that it jogs around the vent window chanel that extendeds down inside of your door. You can see the bolt on the door. The outside bolt is under the mirror cover. This rod does tie the inside and outside of the door together. I heard some sat it is not necessary if it is missing.

Is there supposed to be a bolt in the circular hole at the top of the door?

Yes there is a screw in that hole. I took it out for a measurement. I think it is in the lower wing window frame.
