Turn Signal Housing Color

What color are the front turn signal housings supposed to be? Mine were white paint bombed and kinda rough so going to clean them up and repaint.

On my '74, If memory serves, I believe they were factory cadmium plated steel. So here in the rust belt the road salt would soon turn the finish to rust.

Common fix, paint them white or silver.

My 85 were a white-ish. Rear were black.

It may also depend on trim level, since it was common for GM to add a little more trim “bling” on upper level models.

I mat have misspoken. I was thinking the back side of the housings. The front on mine were trimmed in chrome.
