Ok, so probably a stupid question but I'm a newbie. A few weeks I picked up a turbo 350 out of a junkyard to replace the one in my 81 K10 that's shot. This past weekend I finally got around to dropping the trans out of the truck along with the transfer case. When I unbolted the adapter I noticed the output shaft on the transmission was longer than the one I had just bought. I did some reading and from what I found apparently the output shaft on the transmission is longer for the np208. Is there a different adapter I can buy to get the shorter output shaft on the turbo 350 I bought to work or am I going to need to do a transfer case swap? What's my best bet?

Nope, your options are to get the correct output shaft for the trans (uncommon these days) or run an np203 or 205 from behind the th350.

I can't remember for certain, but I think you can use a 2wd th350 also, as long as it has the short, car style output.

Im pretty sure Advance Adapters could hook you up but it would probably cost more than a new transmission
