What/why does this pic and the burb both look like weird/open ended lug nuts? The 5lug pic ^ especially.
If you ever intend on taking your vehicle to a track you must run open ended lug nuts to pass tech

Vehicles must have open ended lug nuts. The thread engagement on all wheel studs to the lug nut, or lug bolts to wheel hubs, must be equivalent to or greater than the diameter of the stud/bolt. Length of the stud/bolt does not determine permissibility. (Example: A 7/16-inch stud must be thoroughly engaged through the threads in the hex portion of the lug a minimum of 7/16-inch.)

The length of engaged threads does not include the shank or the washer.
It also does not count for aluminum spacers if running drive studs.

The main reason for the open nuts is to visually see the ends of the studs and that they are close to the ends of the nuts and not hiding too short of a stud. Some studs like ARP are even longer than the stated length and the ends rounded off and protrude to make it even more obvious like mine are.
