My Tachometer no longer operates. It pretty much stays pegged around 2500 or so. I tested for 12 volts and s good ground going into the back of the guage. And I tested for 12 volts and a good ground going into the distributer... all good. Is there a way to test the sending wire from the distributor? I need to identify if the tachometer itself is the problem before I order one. Any suggestions?
Thanks

you could use a multimeter and ohm out the cable from end to end and from end to ground. If you have low ohms on the end to ground, the wire is shorted to the body somewhere.
