Hey guys new here ! I have a favour if anybody can help me out . I’ve searched everywhere .

I have a 84 floor shifted 4 speed column , non tilt , that I’m trying to fix up . I’m stuck at the part where I cannot remove the housing cover to get to the wiper switch . Like auto or , 3 on the tree columns the housing just slides out after you remove the bolts and ignition cylinder and etc . And this one after removing everything it’s not going anywhere . Im wondering if anybody can help me out . Thank you

I’m stumped , help haha !!!

If I remember correctly, you have to remove the lock cylinder next. Then it will slide off.

Hey thanks for the response , even with the lock cylinder out it’s does not wanna budge . I just have it in there so the gear don’t move . So on auto and 3 speed ones it just slides out enough to be able to undo the nut that holds the wiper switch . Also on autos ,non tilt there is a cover that you remove to acces the switch . On my column the cover is molded to the bowl of the steering column.

I think the gear needs to slide out of the shroud, the switch keeps it from sliding. The gear is trying to turn the switch.
