Squeaking under acceleration. Wobbling power steering pump pulley.

Hi y'all,

I've been running through the 1980 C20 I just bought, and have been troubleshooting an intermittent squeaking that occurs when accelerating.
It starts and speeds up on acceleration, and goes away when speed stabilizes/evens out, or I let off the gas.

The A/C compressor was what I was initially looking at because it wasn't working/had no pressure when I got it. It might still be good for all I know at this point.
I adjusted the compressor because the belt deflected about an inch, and it is now about a 1/2 inch by feel (haven't verified). I could go to 1/4 inch, but I'm reluctant with some of the other issues I see.

The squeaking went away for a bit, but came back the next day. Tried some belt dressing (I hate the stuff), and it started squeaking at idle when it hadn't before. No dice.
It no longer squeaks at idle now, though.

I've also noticed some play in the steering pump pulley, which seems to come and go under idle. Going to attach a video...

I just want to get some ideas on what might be going on here before I start further in on things...

I'd rather hang on to the old pump and service it if possible.

A/C compressor will eventually be replaced, but it's not urgent on the list because $$$, and it's spinning freely.

Steering is fine with no grinding, groaning, or whining when turning.
No Squeaking when parked and engine revved.
Seems to only happen when under load of acceleration?

I did notice a ticking sound from that general area that seems to correspond to the wobble the other day when I started it up. Should be able to hear it in the video.

Any ideas on what might be going on here before I start further in on things?

Had a truck doing something similar. On startup, the alternator belt would squeal for a little while until the battery recharged.
Thought it was the alternator. Put a new belt on it, no change.
Then I noticed that the alternator pulley was just worn out. The belt was riding on the bottom, flat part of the pulley.

Your squeak is your belts look at how they ride in your pulley one higher one lower, had the same thing occur after replacing one belt on a old farm truck and didnt have the other belt. Old and new belts trying to turn same pulley at different speeds

Lots of belt tricks out there, chalk, belt lube or try removing the belts one by one and run engine for a few seconds, if squeak goes away you MAY have your culprit if the belts are your suspected source of squeal.
