Solution for stripped out 10 Spline sm465/np203?

I've got a 10 spline sm465 / np203 combo in my 1974 K20 pickup where the output shaft and input gear both are very worn. I haven't been able to find a 10 spline input gear for the NP203. I'm wondering what my best options might be and it sure would be nice to be able to reuse my driveshafts. I see that ORD makes a 32 spline short shaft for the sm465. Does anyone know if this can be used with the stock sm465/np203 adapter for '74? The 32 spline input gear for the NP203 is available. I called to confirm with ORD as old information seems to suggest the OEM adapter is acceptable, but they told me I would need to use a sm465 to Dana 300 adapter instead which is a bit shorter (.75" I believe).

If there is another good option which should be considered I definitely would appreciate the input.

I’m using an ORD 32 spline shaft in what was a 10 spline sm465 w/ a 465/203 adapter with no issues. When I bought the shaft (years ago) they just sold me the shaft and never said anything about needing to use a specific adapter.

Note that there are a couple of pressed on bronze bushings you need for the new shaft, again no mention by ORD, so source those before you begin the swap.

I have a 10-spline 203 input and 465/203 adapter for sale. I'll see if I can find my ad for it.

OH - 465/203 Adapter and Range Box

I doubt I'll ever use these. 465 to np203 adapter, with the 203 range box that has the 10 spline input. I'd like not to split them up, as one does me no good without the other. I am willing to separate the 10 spline input from the range box though. $100 plus shipping for both.

You can use the factory adapter with the short 32 output shaft, no problem. That output shaft is built long enough to be sort of universal. The 10 spline system was never good but at least with the 205 it was easy to replace. There's a 10 spline 203 buried in the yard at my parents old house from my dad learning this in 1978...
