I want to replace my original am/fm stereo with one that has the cassette player. How difficult is it to remove the radio and does the AC duct need to be removed? How much work is involved removing the duct to get working room under the dash on an 84 C10?

It will take you longer to take the radio out than it takes to remove the duct. It's a little tight and you have to use a little force but really not a big deal.

Not hard to remove the duct, one bolt on the bottom of the dash and then you just slide it off the heater box and off of the drivers side vent and it's out.

The radio should have a support bracket that will have go to the bottom of the dash as well, then you take the knobs and secondary knobs off the radio, which will give you access to the two nuts on the posts that hold the radio.

Yeah the more space you can get, the better. The duct isn't bad at all. You'll be happy that you did take it out
