My son decided he wants crank windows as his 76, square had power when he bought it. Since sandblasting and paint the window is stuck in down position and he wants to put manual regulators is. Will we have to get the motor to move to get the glass out of the track to get everything out? Or if we start removing electric motor and regulator will the glass come out of the track?

BTW door is a ‘77 door if that matters. Sum of many owners.

Thanks y’all

You have to get the motor to move to get the glass moving from the regulator until the regulator pop out from the glass track ;)

I did he same swap on my 82 K5 Blazer. You can do it by taking the bolts loose that hold the motor, the window channel on the wind wing side and the other track by the door latch. It takes a bit of playing around but is def. doable. Swap out the electric motor and regulator for a manual regulator and put it back together.

You can use a cordless drill battery to power the motor if it's off the truck. Just use some jumper wires.

Craig and Tim,

Thanks for the help. Used jumper wires to the blue and brown and got the motor to work. Got manual regulators from classic today and now my son (owner of the truck) is on the fence about actually going manual even though he loves the classic look. Going to wait to put the rest of the window seals in until he decides. If we stay electric we will definitely upgrade the window power units to the LMC kit for better operation. With motor direct on jumper battery the windows flew up and down that’s for sure. Thanks for all the help, it’s just another $15 to ship regulators back …. Man the shipping is killing me

I had to replace the motor in mine and what a difference. The pass is as slow as molasses. I'm sure I'll have to replace that motor too. I'm interested to see once I put new weather striping in the windows if they slow down.

New Precision window rubber / felt seals after pulling electric window regulator out of drivers door. Precision parts went in as advertised, cranks up and down like a champ.
