The OEM radio I just received has outputs for 4 speakers. I plan to use only two.

Is there any issue of just not hooking up the other speaker wires?

Also is there a rear support for the radio?

Nope, no problem with that at all.

Yes I think they do. But it's been so long since I removed a stock radio.

You shouldn't have any problem unless it has 4 separate output channels. Then you should load the other 2.

How about a pic of the back. Most of them do have some sort of support on the rear.

4 pr of speaker wires.

I see attachment point on radio for support. I'll just make one.

Thanks.

I would suggest the best way is to put some speakers on them. A set in the cab corners sound great.

Sigh..... Why not do it up like the factory did? Front corners and back. Have some fun.

Maybe some experts here can explain the difference between impedence and resistance. Could be as easy as sticking a resistor in the circuit.

You'd still enjoy the ride more with four speakers.

No hearing on left, partial on right. Stereo is a thing of the past.

I only need one speaker. Two is already redundant.

I could get 2 speakers with blown diaphragms. I could mount them anywhere under the dash.

I don't think you need to do anything about the unused speaker channels. Many GM radios had outputs for 4 speakers, but the vehicle they were installed in only had two. Cutaway vans are a good example.

Just turn the fade adjuster all the way to the front or back, and hook the 2 speakers there.
