Howdy. I have a question about radiator and fan shroud. I recently replaced a tired 305 with an '88 5.7. Are they different in the way fan mounts to the water pump than the '86 305? I ask because the fan hits the shroud even after changing out the fan with the '86 fan and the '86 fan shroud. I now have the radiator from My '84 ( that I'm restoring ) in it along with the '84's fan and shroud. The fan still rubs the shroud. Does the '88 block engine mounts move the engine forward some? Cant figure out what's going on. Thanks for any assistance.

Did it have transfer case braces under the motor mounts that got left out. Did you change any mounts including transfer case transmission?

No it didn't have any of the braces. And I reused all the original mounts. I did have to get new inserts to the engine mounts.

I'd say your core support mounts have sagged and your new inserts are s little taller. Maybe the radiator lower mounts are a little crushed also.

Okay, I will look at the core support mounts. Thank you for replying.
