Power door locks

This will be a dumb question for most of you; If I am getting 12v to my switches and either lock does not operate, if I use my meter leads and touch the red one to the center pen on the switch plug and the black one to touch one of the other two pins, shouldn't the solenoid go either up or down depending on which pin was touched? If that does not work, wouldn't that indicate that the solenoid be bad?

A DVM is not a jumper wire. You need a jumper wire to jump the switch.

Also check the ground side of the circuit, especially if both switches are not working. Ground for for the passenger and driver side goes all the way back to the driver side bus bar above the E brake on the kick panel. I think, going from memory, that the passenger ground might also pass thru the driver side switch. But it has been a minute since I have looked at the schematics.

That’s the place! You should be able to see it if you look up under the dash. But I’d run through the diagnostics in the wiring manual to nail down the issue.
