You don't have to move mounts they're all the same from 1/2 ton through 1-ton.

The 82 k20 is a 6.2L and its missing the tranny and transfercase but the stick is still in the floor, and for sure diff than my np203 so if that tells you anything Retro. And it was also an auto. And yea the more i think about it the less im worried about the shock mounts at least thats wat it was and not the spring perches. which also reminds me i should make sure that is out of 3/4 and not 1ton.

That's an easy one. If it's round and 10 bolts 8 lug, then it's 3/4. If it's shaped like a Dana with a 8 lug, then it SHOULD be Dana 60, and have king pins instead of ball joints.

They are both gm 10 bolt 8 lugs, the one just by its self is the one i dunno if its a 3/4 or 1 ton but the one in the k20 deisel is (i guess assuming its still stock) 3/4. But do you gues know an exact gear ration based on GQ1 Rpo 82 k20 6.2L auto and...something other than np203? has 14bff rear still in it but nether have the ratio tags and the rpo is in the glove box, i dunno when ill get a chanse to take a jack out there. And once again thats the one with auto hubs soooo the only way im a get that one is if it has my gears. Other wise ill snag the one with 3.08's cus it has the manual hubs.

As far as elimination goes, if it's got Full Float rear axles in the rear, it won't be 3.42 gears since FF didn't have a nothing close to 3.42. It could be 3.23 sicne FF has a 3.21 ratio, but being 4x4, I'd say you're going to have 3.73 or 4.10 ratio, and even though 4.10 is most common, it could be 3.73 since the 82 had a 6.2 Diesel motor. Those motors didn't like high RPM at all and if GM were smart, they did 3.73 instead of 4.10 but you never know. Can you get the axle code off the axle tube? Or Count it as you just suggested. But if it's a Pull it yourself lot, I'd damn sure hurry up. That 8 lug stuff goes fast.

lol yea i am starting to see that since this place is HUGE and i have prolli found the only 2 8 lugs left. The guy was talking about a bunch of old military trucks that got ripped apart rly fast im putting 2 and 2 togther and assuming they were dana 60's. Sounded like he had like 15 of them or so lol. but i saw the start of the axle code but just couldn't make out the rest of it cus tires were flat and sank into the ground.

1 tons got Dana 60, so it's a 3/4 ton if it's 8 lug. I wouldn't get either one unless it has your gears. The 4.10 is most common, so just keep looking and you'll end getting one that's ready to bolt in with your gear ratio to match your rear.

Now that I am awake, I can answer questions more focused.

Well, the 6.2/3 speed auto standard ratio with the 6600 GVWR was 4.10.

6.2/4 speed A/6600 = 3.42
6.2/4 speed A/8600 = 3.73

If that's the case, get that bitch, auto hubs or not. You can swap your manual hubs off your current 10 bolt, or buy some new Warns for about $100.

That salvage yard wants $250 for that axle? Seems very high to me. $100-$150 is more like it at Pull A Part here.

yea they are auto hubs so i jack one tire up and the other was on the ground and it has no drive shaft so i spun the wheel and the yoke never spun, and the tire just free wheeled so either the hub isn't locked or someone stole the gears or i dunno but i also look on the rpo sheet and it had the 4 speed anyways so not 4.10.
