Hey guys. Like a lot of other K10 trucks bought, mine did not have the flex plate cover installed. Its a 78 K10 350/350 with 6 bolt cover. From what I've found out, it needs the cast aluminum cover with provisions for the strut rods. My local transmission shop told me the 4 bolt cover would not work and would try to locate one for me locally but might take some time. Anybody know what the GM part number for this cover is? Any help would be appreciated!

Found it (I hope)

After much searching, I believe the part number I need is 15607700. Just bought one on Ebay so I hope its the right cover.

If it's not, send me a message through here. I just cleaned some stuff out of a shed at my mom's house, and there was one of those covers with the strut rods that came off a truck I had about 25 years ago.

Unfortunately the cover I bought on ebay didnt work. Its a bit too large. Probably for a th400. I would be interested in the one you have. Is there a part number stamped on it?

I can't recall if there's a number on it or not. I do know with 100% certainty that it came off of a 1979 k10 chevy Cheyenne, that according to the ordersheet I found in it, was equipped with the heavy duty th350 trans from the factory.

The cover I got from Ebay was 20in. from the widest part as seen in the picture. Hopefully yours is a bit smaller.

I'll measure it tonight. It does appear identical though. I know mine was off of a th350, if that doesn't match what was on yours, I'm at a loss as to what it could be.

Looks like what you have is the same piece that I have.

I guess you may need to post up some pics of the trans you're working with, maybe someone here can provide further insight. The pieces we have are definitely the cover for the HD th350.

Okay, looks like a th350 to me. 13 bolts on the pan. Didn't think finding a cover would be this hard.

The cover is a bolt holes width to wide. In another chevy forum, the part number on your cover they say is for a 700r4 trans but I don't know about that. And in another forum they say the part number on mine is a th400 and I don't know about that either.

That's really odd. I know mine came off of a th350, and it appears that yours measures out the same, so that would lead me to believe that we have the same part. do you think there could be anything unusual about the case of your trans?
