Okay so ive looked into this and im confused.

I have the full gauge cluster. Oil, temp, volts, clock. and all works but the oil which is pegged at 60psi.

I looked into getting a new sending unit for the motor (which is out of a g20 van) and i don't know weather the unit on the motor was for the idiot light or for the gauge.

Which is which is basically what im asking.

Also. a bit unrelated to the oil gauge. Engine has a knock sensor, but its broke and disconnected. the truck has a connector for one. should i bother putting a new one in? or leave it unhooked?

The engine shouldn't matter that much, the thing that matters most is that you get the right sending unit for the year that your cluster is.

Im pretty sure that the oil light sender is above the oil filter and it has two spade connectors, and the oil sending unit has a single spade connector and is located next to the distributor on the drivers side. But I think there are two different sending units you can get for that year I believe the resistances are different.
