not-shiny bumper bolts?

They are just 1/2" carriage bolts. Although the non-graded ones have smooth heads, they aren't up to the task of bumper use. Grade 5 is easy enough to get at a hardware store (an actual hardware store, not a giant home improvement store) but the little hash marks will need filed off before painting.
that right there may just be the ticket. I was "assuming" that they were some special size or something. I will measure the length and see what the local hardware place has in grade 5 or 8. I checked that Grainger link, but they seem to have packs of 50, which is probably a bit much...
