Does it have the leaf spring rear end or coil springs and ladder bars. Sounds alot like my 64 GMC C2500. Sure miss that turck. It was factory rear leafs and a Dana 60, originally the big V6 and Granny 4speed SM420. When I bought it, it had a SBC 400 and the OEM SM420 and OEM Dana60. The SBC 400 wasn't running and the guy had just got home from a military tour and wanted the truck out of his way and some cash to take his parents out for the weekend. I get there to look at it and he says and it's a posi. I thought yeah right, but I was buying it anyway. When I seen it was C2500, Dana 60 and SM420, I was sold already. Didn't care about the motor or posi. Towed it 3 miles to my house. For the fugg of it, wanted to the gear ratio, so I jacked up a wheel to count the turns. I thought WTF, the wheel isn't turning, hmmm.??? Jacked it up in the middle so that both rear wheels were up, and I had the biggest hard on ever. Both wheels spun the same direction. He wasn't lying it was posi. The SB 400 that he thought spun a bearing or broke a timing chain, was a just a broken dizzy gear. Replaced the whole dizzy the next day and drove the hell outta that 400 for a few months while I built a 350. Loved that truck and had it for about 9 years. Should never got rid of it. To many memories.
