Hi Everybody,

I'm happy I found you!

My name is John. I live in a small town in Wisconsin. I've been a muscle car guy as long as I can remember. I recently bought a 1984 GMC Sierra step side truck. It hasn't been delivered yet, but I'll post a picture or two when it is. I'm planning on taking the truck to car shows, cruise nights, and other car evens while I rebuild my old Nova. As a car/truck guy it's hard to not want to make improvements to the old girl when it gets here. I'm sure I'll be bothering you with questions. ;)

Thank you and have a good day,
John

Welcome from Florida!

Where is it being shipped in from? Did you purchase outta state? My square came from Cali because I had a hard time finding a rust free one locally

It's coming from Kentucky. It was supposedly from Texas originally.

I'm in the same boat. Lots of salt used to keep the roads clean in winter, so most cars develop rust problems.

You’ll like starting off with a clean rust free truck. It helps with future body work or other improvements if you can skip rust repair and panel replacement and use that money for other upgrades.

@JRichason what year is the Nova you're working on?
It's a 71 with a 454, TH400 with a Gear Vendors overdrive, and 12 bolt post. I've had it for about 20 years or so. It had a 10 year old restoration when I bought it. The paint is getting pretty beat up and the person who restored it did kind of a hack job on some things. The last straw was a rocker stud broke when I went to start it this spring.

Squarebody trucks aint no different than your Nova - it's always one more thing.
You'll get along fine here, have a seat Pal..
The drink girl will make her way back over eventually - dont forget to tip the waitress!

This one goes out to your new truck.

@JRichason My son has a 68 that he has had for 31 tears, original 307, PG 10 bolt. Currently no engine no transmission, waiting for me to build the .030 396 and Muncie. My ride is a 66 SS clone .030 327 2004R and 10 bolt with original AC. I'd like to see some pics of yours, these are ours

Here are a couple pictures of mine. I didn't add the Yenko clone stuff. That is actually one of the reasons I want to redo it. I bought it because I've loved Novas since high school, but I didn't realize everybody and their uncle would ask me about it
