Alright I know I am a lot further South than a few on here, but New guy from Okotoks (just south of Calgary). Been trolling on here for a while since for my tenth anniversary and 35th birthday my wife thought that instead of a present, I should get a project. Best gift ever. Found an 84 C10 custom deluxe with only 157,000 original KM's. That just under 100,000 miles. Body is in good shape. Little rust just in back of the rear wheels, and the drivers side rocker panel. then just a bunch of surface spots. The 305 in it seems to run pretty good, but was a mess from never being cleaned and a couple of leaking spots. That was in June. So far have done, new fuel pump and filters, new trans filter and gasket, wires, plugs, and basic maintenance. Now it is time to start the fun stuff. This is my first 4 wheel project as I'm mostly familiar with the sport bike world, and the truck is perfect as the race bike fits nicely in the box for hauling it around. Plans for this year are:

700r4 swap - th350 currently and want the better mileage for hauling the bike around

carb and intake - current intake is weeping in the front and is rusty, carb either needs rebuilding or a new one. Running really rich and I think the float is pooched (see post in engine threads. thanks for the advice so far guys. I appreciate it as I havent worked with carbs before)

Headers - it has a small bottle exhaust on it now, but couldnt find a brand stamp on it. the original iron has small leak on the left side and those things must just choke the hell out of the engine

Install right side fuel tank - previous owner took the old one out as it was leaking. Bought a new one but never installed it. I have all the parts but the filler neck and bracket where it meets the box. (anyone out there have those sitting in their garage they would be willing to part with?)

I think that is it for this year. General boby work and starting to remove the rust is going to happen whenever I get some time. Next year I am hoping to get it squirted. Wife's friend's husband does custom paint for show cars, and have already started the conversaitions about becoming his good buddy :happy160:
Anyways, glad to be here, and I'll try to help out where I can, but feel I am going to be asking a lot more questions than answering others.

Thanks Guys
Ryan
