new bench seat upholstery

the wife has finally given me the thumbs up that i can get my bench seat upholstered. i want black and red...so now i need help with design.so lets see what you guys got or can find.. i found these they are pretty sweet

I messaged a few upholstery people here in my town to see what it would cost to do one like those vs a standard bench seat. I really like black with white or red stitching and ribs (for her pleasure

I will let you know how it goes, it seems my neighbor (well neighbor's daughter in law) who moved to town does seats and just hung a shingle out.... scary thing is she used to fix upholstery for the marine corps

ONLY THE BEST FOR THE MARINES, I say.
Wait until She has done some work, let Her know You are innersted but want to see an example.
If She is good, She will be "Marine Proud" to show Her work, even though She probably or may not have been an actual marine, She should still shine with being able to do work for them.

I will be looking into this at some point to replace the cloth on mine. It's starting to get a little thin. The cushion/foam is fine.

She wants a whole $420 to do the bench, seen what she did for her husband's car, looks good, going with a similar look to the top of this thread i think, but with an "ivory" tan leather outline with a "burgandy" insert the color matches the original exterior color with tan piping, and probably the tan stripe in the center.

that includes material, the price for a hide is crack smokin low surprised me

i will probably call her back or message her on FB shortly to give her the green light to get the materials, then i'll yank the seat out and take it into her.

Not bad she also used to be my Fed-ex lady

Here is the idea we came up with, but the top bordering will be a Tan "ivory" and the seat insert will be a mahogany "burgandy" with a white center stripe.

but yea she quoted real leather which "should" last the truck another 30 or so years.

Now if she had the knowledge i had a crazy idea to use saddle skirting (as for horse riding) have it tooled like a saddle cut out and around with a lighter background for the seat part.

Bad news is we were confused on her dealer pricing sheet on the Leather its $13 a sq foot or $715 a hide which would be about $2145 in materials..... but she said she would cut me the same deal for vinyl or cloth... so now i can decide if i want to wipe the mud away, fry my ass.... or have to shampoo it and non fried ass

What about some kind of micro fibre cloth? I hear it's pretty cleanable and tolerable to heavy wear.
