Need help on a 87 in texas

How's it going guys


Im in need of assistance, First off......I bought this truck as a father and son project


Engine runs but poorly, trans leaks fluid like no other and the power steering I believe is out


Im about to get a 4L60-E trans from a 96 astro and I do want to make a serpentine hardware swap. This truck has a smog pump or Air pump however you call it and I want to redo the harness or If its better to do a carb swap on it


I need some Ideas or if possible help me to the right direction on what to do on the engine

Need a bit more info than "it runs poorly" poorly how?
missing, got a bad ticking, rough idle, just needs a tune up?

That 4L60 will need a controller that costs more than the transmission. What's the game plan?
