I worked this morning and got my 10 bolt 3/4 ton front axle installed (3/4 axle swap in progress).

I went to hook up the brake lines to the capliers - they don't as their are two tabs on my 1/2 brake line that won't fit into the 3/4 caliper. These are the 8600lb capilers, fyi.

I searched around, no one really mentioned this issue in other swap treads. What do I do? Get new brake lines from the truck to caliper? Should I swap on the old 1/2 ton calipers? I just got reman calipers and new pads for the front, kind of bummer if that was a waste of $$.

Help!

I looked at it all last night and found a solution. The 1/2 ton and 3/4 calipers are the same design it seems, the only difference is that size of the piston. I took a 3/4 caliper off and the brake pads fit perfectly into the 1/2 caliper. I reinstalled the 1/2 calipers with the 3/4 pads and it seems to be fine.

I was going to post on this last night but noticed yours was an 87 model and wasn't sure, but I know there's a year break for the earlier banjo bolts, 78 and older is standard and 79 and newer is metric. Otherwise, only difference I've seen in brake lines is the 1/2 and 3/4 ton verses the 1-ton brake lines which are drastically different. Anyhoo glad you got 'er fingered out! :waytogo:
